REVIEW! Maybelline NEW Superstay Foundation

So, I saw this in my local drug store, Superdrug, a couple of weeks ago and I read thoroughly through the bottle. It seemed to claim that the foundation created:
~ Better skin in 3 weeks
~Flawless finish
~Evens skin tone
~It is Non Transfer
~ and it was only £8.99!

I thought, 'why the hell not!'. If it claimed it could do everything it said it did, my search for the perfect foundation would be over.  I bought the foundation in the shade 021 Nude. I have used this foundation for a couple of weeks now; applying it with the Real Techniques Face expert brush. There are certainly pros and cons too this foundation, just read on.

Coverage:

I found this had a medium to  heavy coverage- easily covering my blemishes, but not my spots- drying them out and made them look like flakes of skin. If you have redness - this foundation is to go for. It sits really well in that department.

Lasting wear:

The foundation did last for a long time- often I will come home from school and it will still mostly be there. However, where I had sweat or done PE the foundation had somewhat disconnected from my skin and looked like a rash over my skin, not an attractive sight. I did try to hide it with powder but it did not work! It lasted even longer with my primer from benefit (15 hour), but it still didn't stop it from turning into a rash.

Skin tone:

If you don't blend the foundation properly it becomes uneven and patchy, especially when you use a flat foundation brush or apply it to your nose. however, the foundation is easy to blend in and you don't need much to cover a large area of skin.

'Non Transfer'~

that is rubbish in some cases- it came of onto my BLACK jumper when it rained for 5 minutes! However, you averagely touch your face twice a minute and the foundation didn't budge. it just all depends on the weather.

SKIN TYPES: I would NOT recommend this for people with dry or combination skin! The foundation highlights you're dry patches and makes it all flaky. It would look lovely on oily skin- it gives a nice dewy affect. Just set it with powder because if not- it will make your face shine (not in the complimentary way).  I have not noticed a difference in my skin- I am a combo girl. However my oily areas are clear of spots, where as my dry has breakouts.

PROS:

Long Lasting
Easily blends~ I use a Real techniques brush- Expert face brush
Doesn't transfer in good weather
Good for oily skin

CONS:

Can form a 'rash' look if you sweat
transfers in the rain
can be streaky if not applied correctly
Picks up dry areas

I Give the foundation 3.5 stars out of 5!

Love, Paige
